In-Kind Volunteers work directly with the refugees being settled in southeastern Michigan. Tasks may include translation services, transportation help, registration assistance, grocery shopping, moving furniture, introducing refugee families to local organizations and places of worship, and more!

The Fundraising Committee focuses on raising money through grants, fundraising events, and by reaching out to MRAP member networks. In order to provide the in-kind necessities to refugee families and to educate the greater Ann Arbor community, funds are required. Accordingly, the Fundraising Committee is vital to the success of MRAP.

The Education & Advocacy Committee works to raise awareness about both the mission of MRAP and the ongoing humanitarian crisis that has displaced so many. Much of this committee’s work surrounds planning educational events and advocacy campaigns. In our efforts to establish a welcoming community for the incoming refugees, the Education & Advocacy Committee takes a primary role.

The Community Outreach Committee primarily focuses on building coalitions with local businesses and other student organizations. Given the unique nature of MRAP, many student groups and organizations seek collaboration for events, campaigns, or fundraising. Community Outreach manages these partnerships as well as MRAP’s social media accounts.
